Welcome to the Blog For MED7020 Popular Music as Commerce. The module will have a specific focus on popular music as a commercial entity rather than a cultural entity, however those distinctions are not mutually exclusive. This module will also draw on notions of contemporary music industry enterprise and innovation.

As part of the module you are required to write and submit here a weekly blog post of 500 words relating to each weeks topic area. These blog posts will develop your thinking, analytical and writing skills and contribute towards the assignments you will be taking during the module. Of course you are also encouraged to add more content such as your thoughts and opinions on anything interesting or stimulating related to popular music as commerce, such as videos, resources, articles, industry reports…anything that you think will develop your scholarship and the scholarship of your peers.
